Makeup revolution - Iconic 2 Palette

Being a beauty blogger I could not get away from the hype surrounding the launch of Makeup Revolution a couple of months ago.  Not being one to normally order online I was so excited to see it finally in my local superdrug. I bought a few things but my favourite being the iconic 2 palette.

Its a great budget palette which contains earthy neutral colours. The colours are not just normal natural colours however as I find some are not the common colours that you would find in a natural palette. Making a great all round palette. For only £4 you get a great palette with all usable natural shades to use daily. They obviously are not the most pigmented however in comparison to MUA, they are build-able to get the strong colour you are looking for.

In contrast to the Naked 2 Palette, you get very similar colours and the same amount of product. So a definite dupe if urban decay are a little out of the price range.

Yes the packaging is a little more on the cheap side but for a £4 palette that many are comparing to the urban decay naked palette, im not one to complain.

Have you tried any Makeup Revolution products?

Whats your opinion?

Lippy of the month - YSL Rouge volupte lipstick in (13) peach passion

Unlike last months lippy of the month (here) ive had a busy month doing lots of normal  life things such as uni applications and packing up my house as in 3 weeks im moving! (which means im busy scheduling posts for the week or so I have to survive with NO INTERNET) Therefore ive been sticking to the more natural long lasting lipsticks that get me through the day.

The lipstick ive been drawn to the most is the YSL Rouge volupte lipstick in (13) peach passion. It retails for around£25, which I know is a lot but the girl in me cant resist packaging like this as I am a major sucker for luxury packaging. The noticeable gold packaging with the YSL detailing and pop of colour is always a winner for me.

The product itself is very light on the lips however has a creamy rich texture. I find it to be quite moisturising and the colour is a fresh beautiful coral. I find its the right balance between the perfect pink and peach which is perfect for every day.

My only problem being, as it is a very creamy lip product, it isn't the easiest to apply.

Whats your opinion on YSL lipsticks? Hows September been for you?

The body shop tea tree skin clearing lotion

One range that I love is the body shop tea tree range. I have very problemed skin and find that tea tree products to really help keep my skin in control. I have used and still use a lot of this range form the body shop for many years and think for the price its a great buy. It retails for £3! Which is an absolute steal! However I find body shop always have great discounts, point cards and sells a lot of products in sets so its always great to find it a little cheaper.

It's advertised to be a  lightweight, non oily moisturising lotion, which I completely agree with. This is great for my very oily and acne-prone skin as if used daily I find to both stop spots from starting and to get rid of pre existing spots. I find it great as it is also fast-absorbing which means you are not waiting around. I don't use this alone, and also not everyday; I only wear it after I wash my face with my Tea Tree forming cleanser, which is another firm favourite of mine.

Thank for reading! I'm blogging everyday in August, read the first post here!

Lush - Angels on bare skin*

My skin is pretty horrible. I've suffered from acne for as long as I can remember and am always looking for different products whether natural or not to get me skin looking its best.

I really like the concept of this product. I simply take a small piece in my hand and add water to make it into a paste. Then massage it onto the face with my finger tips and wash off! I repeat this about twice a week.

I found it to be quite a mild cleanser so im not going to say its a wonder product which improved all my blemishes. However it is a nice little product as I found it very healing and calming. I love the smell of this product though. It smells incredibly fresh with lots of lavender flowers being added to the product.  However if you don't really like the smell of lavender you probably wont enjoy this. The product I found to really soften my skin, making it feel refreshed. I strongly believe in what it says, It does gently exfoliate and removes dirt. I also found that it didn't dry out my skin which is always a plus.

Have you tired it? what's your thoughts?

Benefit - Rockateur blush review

Being on a student budget I often read about a million and one reviews before I buy a high end product. The benefit Rockateur blush being one that I did my research on. Therefore I was extremely happy to receive it as a part of the beauty swap at the Lincoln blog meetup ( blog post and vlog here). After a couple of weeks trying it out I am loving it!!

The blush itself is a beautiful rose gold which also highlights very subtly. Originally it had a top layer of shimmer however after a few application I found it was just the right about  to give you  a healthy looking luminous glow. The product applies well being very lightweight and quite sheer. However is very buildable if wanted. The packaging im not as sure about. I do love boxed blushes ect however the chains and lace do make it look a little cheaper. However apart from that it is a lovely product to use daily. I never really use brushes that come with products even if it does seem like a decent brush, which this one does. Instead I normally use the real techniques blush brush to apply.

I know this wasn't really a full review but I haven't had that long to really get to know the product.

Sleek blush palette - Lace - Review

About a month ago I spotted this beautiful blush palette in Superdrug. That palette did get left somewhere in Florida when I was on holiday but I did pick another one up the other day so thought I would do a review while it still looks clean and exceptable.

The packaging I really like to start with. Its is very strong and durable, which you don't normally get with a high street brand. As well as looking like a more high end brand due to the 'sleek' and uncluttered look. It also contains a huge mirror which is very helpful for on the go touch ups.

In the trio there is 2 matte colours and 1 shimmery, so has a good range depending on your skin type. (im not a fan of shimmery blushers with my oily skin)

From the left to right  the colours are Crochet, Guipure and chantilly. Crochet is a very vibrant orange. Guipure is a shimmery lighter pink with slight flickers of gold. Lastly Chantilly is a bright matte coral depending on the lightly it can look more red / pink. I do tend to use the  pink colours more as im not really a huge fan of orange blusher all the time. However the orange is still nice to use every now and again.

The colours are very highly pigmented and buildable for a more intense look. However they are extremely pigmented so be careful when applying as you could end up with a slight clown look.Start off the the tiniest amount when applying.

Overall its an absolutely loving palette and is perfect for just day to day or buildable for a intense night look. The price makes the product even better however, for £9.99 for 3 great, usable and highly pigmented blushers. The colours are also a wide range so perfect as a basic day to day set.
