Makeup on a budget tips

Today I thought I would go through some of the things I do when im on a really strict budget but still want to pick up some new make-up bits and bobs. I do have a job but lets be honest when doing A levels, I don't have a lot of time to do lots of shifts. So lets go!

1) Work out how much you can spend a week or month. This way you can see how much you have to spend and don't even have to spend it if you don't want to.

2) Read lots of reviews before you buy anything. Therefore you are less likely to avoid disappointment and so don't waste money repurchasing a different product.

3) Research brands to make sure they decent and will last you.

4) Make sure you get the basics if you are just starting your makeup collection. Try and get a good bronzer, blusher ect then you can build your collection up from there.

5)  Makeup saving tips such as if you run out of eye-liner use an eye-liner brush dipped into your favourite long lasting  mascara are always good to know. Also not using foundation sponges as they absorb your foundation meaning you use more wasting the product.

6) More expensive brands don't always mean they have best quality. You have to try and shop around the cheaper brands to try and get a good idea for which brands work just as well at a cheaper price

7)  I have a post coming very shortly about finding high end and high street in shops such a poundland. Therefore I will link the post when it is up here!

8) My best tip? Any store you are in that has a loyalty card you might as well get one, especially if you shop in there a lot! The amount of boots advantage card points I have could be seen as a little sad. There is no point in missing out of freebies and such like.

Have you got any great tips for being on a budget? I'm blogging everyday in August read the first post here!

Blogger interviews #4 - Andrea-Thandi from CocoDrizzle

Its number 4 in the blogger interview series and this week I interviewed Andrea- Thandi from CocoDrizzle!

What is your blog called and what is it about?
My blog, CocoDrizzle, is a platform for DIY/Sew tutorials, Style, Books, Fitness and occasional ramblings about Life. Here is the CocoDrizzle Link!

Why did you want to start your blog?
My blog is still an infant in the blogging community. I originally started my blog as an outlet to share my views on feminism, and generally, just life. For the very short 3 months of my blogs existence, it has evolved into more of a lifestyle orientated platform.

What’s some other blogs you like and where do you take inspiration from?

To be honest, I only started reading other blogs when I started my blogging journey. I like reading all sorts of blogs: Lifestyle, Fashion and Crafty blogs. Some of the blogs I like are:
Maybe Matilda
I get my inspiration from everything;novels for book reviews, interesting articles in magazines, random things that have happened during the course of my day. Inspiration is everywhere.

What are you hoping for in the future?
I hope that my blog will reach a higher audience, and that it will continue to expand in every aspect. I also hope that the quality of my writing and will improve in the future, as well as the quality of my content. I want my blog to be a source of enjoyment, fun and sincerity.

What’s any / all your social media links so any readers can find you?
I like to keep it simple. I mainly make use of this trio of social media.
Readers can find me on:
Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/andrea.thandi
Twitter - https://twitter.com/CocoDrizzlecd
Pinterest - http://www.pinterest.com/andreathandie/

Beauty vs Brains tag

I haven't done a tag on my blog, so as a part of blogging everyday in August thought it was time to do one.

Favourite quotation:
My old primary school headteacher always use to say "reach for the stars and even if you miss you'll land among the stars" so that ones really drummed in to me. I also like a couple of DR Seuss quotes like "those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind" and "today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is you'er than you" or Marilyn Monroe's  "I am selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell do not deserve me at my best"

English or Maths?:

Maths defiantly! I never enjoyed English.

 Science or Art?:
I enjoy art as my granddad was an amazing artist who got some pictures in good gallery's but I do AS Biology and want to go into a profession in the area so science.

Name five albums or musical artists that changed your life.
I love a bit of Ed Sheeran especially some of his earlier albums  like "want some" and "orange room EP" and passenger who surrpoted him on tour. But one song that changed my life was "romeo and juliet" by Dire strait. I first heard this song when I was 7 and , according to my dad,  I knew all the words at 7 years old. The song starry starry night also means a lot to me. So my dad bought me a cheap guitar off Ebay and I started to learn to play.

Favourite & least favourite subject at school:
Favourite would have to be drama as I have some pretty darn amazing people in my class who I really to loved over the two years. At my school we have to do citenzenship at GCSE which I HATED so much but a ' normal' lesson I did not like would of been English .

Favourite 'Celebrity with a Brain':
There's only really one it could be the amazing Stephen Fry.

If you could study anything anywhere, what would it be?
I currently want to study something biology and animal related. However I would love to study abroad somewhere, I think by doing that you would get so much more out of the university experience. But if it was anything who wouldn't want to go to NASA?

What is your 'nerdy little secret'?:
There's not that many secrets. I do have a blue peter badge that I am VERY proud of, I can name all the Doctor who doctors, their dates and most of the companions (all on a good day), and if you tell me the Doctors name is actually Doctor who I may have to kill you!

Name some things that you're obsessed with that other people would find strange or geeky.:
Even though its not really nerdy, as ive already said  I love all sci fi shows. If it wasn't for my blog I could just watch them all day long.

The body shop tea tree skin clearing lotion

One range that I love is the body shop tea tree range. I have very problemed skin and find that tea tree products to really help keep my skin in control. I have used and still use a lot of this range form the body shop for many years and think for the price its a great buy. It retails for £3! Which is an absolute steal! However I find body shop always have great discounts, point cards and sells a lot of products in sets so its always great to find it a little cheaper.

It's advertised to be a  lightweight, non oily moisturising lotion, which I completely agree with. This is great for my very oily and acne-prone skin as if used daily I find to both stop spots from starting and to get rid of pre existing spots. I find it great as it is also fast-absorbing which means you are not waiting around. I don't use this alone, and also not everyday; I only wear it after I wash my face with my Tea Tree forming cleanser, which is another firm favourite of mine.

Thank for reading! I'm blogging everyday in August, read the first post here!

The Liebster Award

I've read posts about the Liebster award by lots of different people and thought it was the cutest idea. I love the blogging community as everyone is so welcoming and lovely and this award proves that. Liebster awards, meaning kindest, sweetest, lovely, kind and valued in German, are given to up and coming bloggers with followers under the 200 mark.  I was so honoured to receive the award by:

I am VERY thankful to everyone that has nominated as it means a lot for me and my little blog. However I feel like 66 sets of questions would be a lot for one post. Therefore as much as I would love to answer them all, ive decided to only do the first set given to me by Katriona and Julie.

2. You must list 11 random facts about yourself.
3. You must answer 11 questions given to you by the blogger that nominated you.
4. You must then nominate 11 fellow bloggers with under 200 followers and give them 11 questions of your choice. (
I was unsure whether to go off bloglovin or Google followers so some may have more then 200 followers on bloglovin for example but less then that on Google friends connect)
