Lippy of the month - YSL Rouge volupte lipstick in (13) peach passion

Unlike last months lippy of the month (here) ive had a busy month doing lots of normal  life things such as uni applications and packing up my house as in 3 weeks im moving! (which means im busy scheduling posts for the week or so I have to survive with NO INTERNET) Therefore ive been sticking to the more natural long lasting lipsticks that get me through the day.

The lipstick ive been drawn to the most is the YSL Rouge volupte lipstick in (13) peach passion. It retails for around£25, which I know is a lot but the girl in me cant resist packaging like this as I am a major sucker for luxury packaging. The noticeable gold packaging with the YSL detailing and pop of colour is always a winner for me.

The product itself is very light on the lips however has a creamy rich texture. I find it to be quite moisturising and the colour is a fresh beautiful coral. I find its the right balance between the perfect pink and peach which is perfect for every day.

My only problem being, as it is a very creamy lip product, it isn't the easiest to apply.

Whats your opinion on YSL lipsticks? Hows September been for you?

A little life update - Quality over quantity

Just in case its not clear I really love blogging. I love everything and especially when I get amazing feedback through comments and tweets by you. I've recently had some amazing opportunities offered to me (which of course I accepted) so basically im very happy right now.

I got a tweet the other day asking where I had gone this month which I understand as ive only had 4 posts up this month! I know ive been a bad blogger but after the rush of blogging everyday in August two things happened. Firstly a received  a little bit of bloggers block however I now have some new posts ready to upload so that's been overcome now. Secondly after the relaxing August period ive been thrown back into work, A levels and uni applications meaning I haven't had a lot of time to get lots of amazing blog stuff done. I think most bloggers will agree with me that blogging should be quality over quantity and I don't want to put rubbish up on my blog.

So basically I haven't left and there will be a lot more coming up on my blog every soon as well as (hopefully if technology doesn't fail me) an Autumn lookbook.

Thanks for still being here!

Blogger interviews #8 - Everyday grace

So my blogs had a little week off as you will know if you follow me on twitter. My life has been a little too hectic at the moment with moving house and sorting out university applications as well as starting A2. But im back and ready to blog again! Starting off with an interview with all round blogger Grace.

What is your blog called and what is it about?

I’m Grace from Every Day In Grace (http://everydayingrace.blogspot.ca/) and I write a lifestyle, fashion and beauty blog! My blog is basically a giant collection of everything I’ve loving at the moment, whether that be outfit of the days, beauty product reviews, baking recipes, DIYs, tips on all sorts of random things, Friday Favourites, links I love or just me sharing my life with you through Photo Diaries!

Why did you want to start your blog?

For about four years before I started my blog, I’ve read other blogs daily and I have to admit, it took up quite a bit of my time. I followed and read blogs every single day, and soon it became a hobby of mine to read blogs! I even liked it more than reading magazines…then, eventually I knew it was time to start my own and share my experiences with readers from all over the world like my favourite bloggers. And it’s amazing to think that all bloggers leave their mark on the world somehow, when you think about it that way ;). I originally wanted to start my blog after I was in university, but one day I just went for it and I couldn’t stop myself from writing my blog J.

What are some blogs you like and where do you take inspiration from?
For lifestyle posts, I started by reading A Beautiful Mess (http://abeautifulmess.com/) and I still do! I also like Maze Days (http://mazedays.blogspot.dk/), The Freckled Fox (http://www.freckled-fox.com/),  ( Lauryn’s Notebook (http://www.laurynsnotebook.com/) and Lauren Conrad’s blog (http://laurenconrad.com/). For fashion posts, my favourites are Cupcakes and Cashmere, Just a Tina Bit (http://www.justatinabit.com/) and Von Vogue (http://www.vonvogue.com/). There’s a lot more blogs I admire, but it’d take all day to name them all!

What are you hoping for in the future?

I’m hoping to be more involved in the blogging community and making some blogger friends! And I’d love to go to a few blogging events, if any are available in my area!

What’s your best blogging tip?

Make your header aesthetically pleasing and have an easy to navigate layout. Your header is the first thing people see when they come to your blog, so make it nice! An easy layout allows them to enjoy their stay on your blog and makes sure they don’t get frustrated when they can’t find what they want J.

What’s any / all your social media links so any readers can find you?

I love interacting with my readers through the comments and on Twitter. I would be so happy if you came over and say hi! You can find me at:

Welcome to my award winning blog?!?

When I restarted my blog back in May I never thought just  5 months later I would start winning awards for it!  I love my blog and love spending time making it hopefully enjoyable for you to read.

This Tuesday, whilst scrolling through twitter I thought I would enter for a chance to win the first ever #WEAwards not thinking I would ever win. I've been apart of  a wear eponymous twitter chat before and knew they were a great company who really cared about bloggers so thought why not. However, you can obviously see were this is going, I won the first ever award! I'm so thankful as as much as I love writing my blog for my own sake, as I enjoy it, it means you lovely readers like it too. Which im not going to lie, makes me feel pretty darn great.

If you are also a blogger and really are passionate about you blog, you too can be in for the chance of winning the award and the opportunity to be the yearly winner you can find out more here:

*update - im not 100% sure if I was the first winner however myself and http://fashionworked.wordpress.com/ both seem to have won week 1 *

NEW HAIR! - Bye bye ombre

I've had my ombre hair for almost a year now and was starting  to get a little bored of it. So just in time for Autumn and back to college I decided to have a little trim, tidy and dye back. It was a big decision, as I loved my ombre, my friends were rather against me changing it and I felt like my new hair would be a little 'boring'.

However the hair dresser did not let me down! By leaving out some of my natural bits of hair the colour looks almost natural, which was my major worry.

So whats your thoughts? Is ombre still the done thing to do or is it on its way out? How did you dye yours out?
